HOURLY COMIC DAY 2025

2025 is the first year I participated in Hourly Comic Day, a creative challenge in which anyone who wants to participate draws each hour of their day on February 1st. Some people post their comics throughout the day, while others compile all their drawings and post them the next morning. However, I fell into neither camp, and posted the pages in two parts, with about a week’s time in between.

Though it did not go quite according to plan, it was a valuable opportunity to take part in a community event and challenge myself to create under a set of constraints that I was unaccustomed to having. I worked on composition, framing, and observation, as well as selecting the precise moments I wanted to depict under a the two-page constraints I decided on for myself. The result is energetic, dynamic, and full of personality.

Medium: Pencil and Ink on 11” x 14” Bristol paper.
